I just wanted to clarify in one blow the reason I opted out of running for the School Committee.
Some of you are aware that I have been unemployed since June of 2009. I have had no luck finding employment in my field, so I am in training for a new job that is more than likely going to have me traveling Monday through Friday. Unfortunately it all comes down to timing, and I will not have final details on my schedule until June. If my schedule does involve extensive travel I would not have been able to serve on the SC in any kind of meaningful capacity. Also I had no desire to get elected, and then have to resign two months later causing the town to have to hold a special election to fill a seat that I filled for only two months.
It is unfortunate that no one else stepped up to the plate. Their are certainly enough people in town who qualify.
